Know before you go

Everything practical about your visit, in the order you'll need it.

Arriving at the Hot Stone sauna

Step 1

Before you arrive

  • Arrive five to ten minutes before your slot. Sessions start on time, and a late arrival eats into your own booking rather than the next one.
  • Bring a swimsuit, a towel, and flip-flops or sandals. You will be walking on wet decking.
  • Eat something light beforehand, but not a full meal. Come hydrated.
  • Leave valuables at home where you can. Storage is limited.

Step 2

While you're here

  • Shower before you get in. Everyone shares the same water and the same benches.
  • Sit on your towel in the sauna. Move to a lower bench if the top gets too warm.
  • Go into the ice bath slowly and breathe out as you go in. Do not jump or dive.
  • Come out when you have had enough, not when the clock says so. There is no prize for staying longer.
  • Keep it quiet enough that other people can hear themselves think.

Step 3

After your session

  • Warm up gradually rather than jumping straight into a hot shower.
  • Drink water. You will have lost more than you think.
  • Give yourself time before driving. Heat and cold can leave you light-headed for a while.
